Manannán mac Lir 04/28/20 “Alright, we can look at plans for houses and build what we want. I still love Ireland, of course, but we are here, and I want something more permanent than a couple of rooms.” One advantage of the tiny room they were currently in was having Harlie so close. Her scent surrounded Manannán and it put his senses in overdrive. A frown marred his face as he felt the arrival of something magical in the room. As Harlie trailed off, he noted something appeared under her hand at the same time as she looked down at the counter. He vaguely remembered a message similarly arriving for himself some time ago. Only one person that he was aware of sent letters in such a way. Watching keenly, Manannán studied Harlie’s face as she opened the envelope and unfolded the letter. She looked apprehensive and nervous energy rolled off her, so he slid an arm around her waist once more to lend his support. Though he didn’t read the note, he could see the blotched and smeared writing indicating an unsteady hand. Then Harlie pressed the paper to her chest and looked at him in the mirror. Her concern and worry were evident. “I don’t know what was said, but the author appeared to be having issues. Virelai? If we write back will she get the note immediately? We can find out if she needs help.”
Naberius Reum 04/23/20 You managed to break out Harlowe mac Lir

Pulling the pick lock set he found on the black market out of his leather jacket, Naberius winked at the woman watching him. It took a few moments, but the subtle click was followed by the jail door opening.

"You're free miss. Try to keep out of trouble, will ya?" He grinned, giving her a wink.
Athena Maximus 04/12/20 She had decided to shake things up and go visit some of her coven mates. She had a basket and was skipping down the hall as she came across one of them. “Hey! Happy Sunday!” She reached into her basket and pulled out a couple of mini bottles of alcohol. “Enjoy!” She said as she skipped off.
Virelai Tylwyth 04/07/20 The concept of time had become skewed, days beginning to drift one into the next, in this forever twilight. This place just outside of the turn of the earth and the revolution of the heavenly bodies and the grating worry of time had become Virelai's new normal. Or perhaps that was simply how it was for those whose souls wandered. Vir had seen and interacted with ghosts and spirits before. And she had spent much of her time among the living tending to the dead.

But since she had died it had become difficult to tell whether one of those shadows or strange tall figures that sit at the corner of the vision was alive or dead. Sometimes she spoke to people she knew, people who were familiar to her in some way. She had spent a lot of time trying to remember but the more she attempted to recall the more she seemed to forget.

So when the envelope arrived, materializing on the floor within reaching distance of where she lay curled in a mound of furred blankets, Virelai wondered if someone was playing a trick on her. The generous gift she received was unexpected but not as shocking as the short letter. This she remembered more clearly than most things. The handwriting belonged to Harlowe, she was certain of that. Virelai could feel the warm energy she associated with her and caught she caught a hint of the cinnamon and woodsmoke scent that was so familiar to her.

Virelai clutched that letter to her chest even though it was difficult to maintain the focus needed to keep it from falling through her ghostly fingers. She read it dozens of times over the next several hours, or perhaps it had been days, trying to decide what she should do. Virelai was closer to where Harlowe was than the redhead probably realized, but she couldn't go and see her.

So instead, after a long internal debate, Virelai decided to send a letter as a reply.

Dear Har-lowe,
It has been a l-ng time. I hope that this le-tter finds you well. The w-rld has become a vvery different place than it -nce was. But I am d-ing my best to understand that ch-nge. I want to tell you that I appreciate the g-ft you have sent. I am certain it will be vvery helpful. I hope that you are finding j-y in your life and that you are happy.
Y-urs,
Vir

It took a long time to write, the pen slipping from between her fingers, clattering onto the floor every few minutes. It left blots of ink on the page, smeared a few words here and there, but at last she had a reply she was satisfied with. Sealing and sending the letter proved even more difficult and when it was done she wasn't sure she had managed to get the letter to its destination. Still, all she could do was hope that she had.
Manannán mac Lir 04/06/20 Attempting to trim his beard while his wife used the hairdryer after their shower was proving difficult for Manannán. The room may have been okay if he wasn’t so huge, but he was, and so it felt like they only just squeezed in here together. There wasn’t much to be done about it. Except maybe build a new bathroom, that had a new house around it.

“Mo grá, I think we need a new place to stay. Shall we find a piece of land on the estate and put up a place for us? One with a double bathroom. I find I like New Orleans.”

The ghosts didn’t mess with him at all, that wasn’t an issue. But he needed somewhere that accommodated his size a bit better. Sliding his arms around his wife, he leaned down and kissed the top of her head then slid his fingers into her hair and running them from her scalp down the length of it he magically dried it as he went. He winked at her in the mirror then lifted all that glorious red a moment to kiss her neck and nibble on her earlobe.

“There you go, all dry. Now, about that house? What do you think, lass?”
Manannán mac Lir 04/02/20 Breathing in her scent as Harlie got closer, Manannán growled in the back of his throat as he saw her blue eyes spark with fire. His eyes drawn to her mouth as she bit her lip then ran her pink tongue over her full lips, wetting them, making them unbearably inviting.

“Aye, woman, I remember every detail of how naughty you can be.”

The voice that left his throat was husky just as hers was, deeper, filled with desire. How did she do this? He had started the teasing, and she had managed to wrest his control from him with just a look. Then her mouth was there, so tantalisingly close to his. Her words laying claim to him was his undoing, and as she bit his lip and slid her hand below his waistband, an unbidden groan came out of him.

It was at that point he remembered they were in the communal kitchen within the plantation house. Thankfully the one brain cell currently able to think beyond nimble fingers and delicious lips had the presence of mind to act. Wrapping Harlie in his embrace, Manannán took Harlie’s mouth in a deep kiss as he whisked them both through the ether to more private surrounds.
Manannán mac Lir 04/01/20 Harlowe mac Lir just failed at stealing money from you!

With a grin, Manannán sauntered over to his Harlie as he unbuttoned his pants. "Harlie-girl, you know you don't have to sneak around to get into my pants, right?"

Biting his lip and slowly releasing it from his teeth as a wickedly sexy grin settled across his mouth, Manannán winked at his delicious wife, as he slowly unzipped.
Manannán mac Lir 03/29/20 As he spoke, the emotions that Manannán read on Harlie’s face even before the tears began almost stunned him to silence. She was clearly as on board with this as he was, and he couldn’t believe he was worried she might not be happy with his timing. But still, she had to say the words first, though the fact that she was nodding well in advance of the end of his declaration gave him great hope.

When Harlie gingerly reached out to touch the diamond, Manannán also knew he had made the right decision in his choice of colour. Their first marriage had begun with a blue diamond, and perhaps that he now chose her favourite colour instead of something that represented himself was a testament to how far he had come. His life was all about her now, which wasn’t to say he didn’t have his own mind, but that Harlie truly was the centre of his world and he only wanted to make decisions that worked for the both of them.

Then Harlie spoke, and he soaked in every word, letting them sink deep into his being. The first time they were married, he thought was the best day of his life. Now, Manannán found this moment surpassed that one because they had gone through so much and still come back to each other stronger than ever.

When Harlie finished speaking, Manannán leaned in and first captured her lips to seal their affirmation. Then he took a moment to wipe her tears away before taking her hand and sliding on the pink diamond ring that fit her perfectly. “Mo bhean chéile. My life belongs to you in everything. We can have a ceremony whenever you like, but I have a great need to cement our bond right away. Together for eternity.”

Stroking his hand over her cheek, he kissed her once more before he picked her up and laid her on their bed. He took time to marvel at this incredible woman who had entered his life with such energy and mischief. “Maybe some special time for us first, then off to the Broken Cathedral to have our marriage made official.” With a grin, he laid his lips softly against hers with promises of desire and love and stroked his hands over her lovely form. “You are beautiful, mo grá, and all mine.”
Manannán mac Lir 03/27/20 As Harlie slept on, Manannán stroked his fingers over her arm as he curled himself around her. She was so precious to him, and his emotions overwhelmed him as he watched over her. He didn’t want to go another day without her knowing how much he adored her. At his confession, she stirred then turned to him sleepily, her small hand touching his chest.

“Yes, mo grá. Nic and I had an excellent discussion and some very fine whiskey. It seems he has joined the anointed, so you will have more than one arrogant god to contest with.”

Leaning down, he brushed his lips over her sleepy ones, encouraging her to follow him in the sensual dance of lips and tongues they were both knew so fluently. He didn’t stop until she was breathless and her cheeks flushed with desire as a pretty pink stained her skin to offset her blue eyes and red hair.

Thrilled that they had once again admitted their love to one another, Manannán stroked his palm over Harlie’s cheek. He kissed her, then quickly sat up to fish something out of his bedside table. The blue satin covered box looked tiny in his large palm, and he held it closed for a moment.

“Harlie, I love you with everything in me, and I know we’ve been through a lot together. Yet, we are still here standing before one another unwilling to leave and find someone else when we both had the opportunity to do so. You are my heart and soul. You have been since the moment we met. Now, I don’t want to go another day without us officially belonging to one another.”

Standing from the bed, Manannán gently pulled her with him, so she stood as he went down on one knee. Taking a moment to look up at her and take in all of her beauty, he smiled. “Harlie-girl, beloved. An bpósfaidh tú mé?”

Then he opened up the small box in his hand to reveal the ring he had purchased for her some time ago in the hope he would one day present it to her.

Manannán mac Lir 03/24/20 Entering his rooms, Manannán finds his beautiful Harlie asleep on his bed. Lying next to her he ran his fingers through her soft hair and kissed her smooth cheek. “I love you, Harlie-girl,” he whispered as he curled his much larger frame around hers.
Manannán mac Lir 03/07/20 Manannán attempted to stay cool when he received the texts and delicious snapshots from his sexy woman and utterly failed.

Bandia Gnéis
Woman, I should tell you to behave
But I don’t want you to
Ever
I’ll be back soon
Get a couple of my ties out; I have ideas
Manannán mac Lir 03/03/20 Beloved
Good, I imagine you sprawled across it
I’m guessing it would be fairly difficult for any other party to enjoy you warming their bed with both their legs broken
Just a thought
I will be there soon, Harlie-girl
I promise to rock you to sleep
Wait
I meant rock your world before you go to sleep
*wink*
Manannán mac Lir 02/27/20 My Goddess
I'm catching up with Nic tonight
Not sure how late I'll be
If you're not in my bed when I come up
I'll come find you
Love M

Thinks for a moment. Sends a second text.

My Goddess
That last text was not meant to sound like a threat
Yet, it sort of is
I want you in my bed for the rest of eternity
I don’t see this as asking too much
I’ll make it worth your while
Love Manny
Vexa 02/19/20 Brows raised over coppery hues, Vexa accepted the bag of green jellybeans. It seemed Harlowe didn't appreciate the crappy jellybean the would be assassin had thrown at her and instead bought ones that she did like. She would remember this the next time she was stalking Harlie. This Valentine's day reference though, threw the girl for a loop. Was it a holiday?

"Thank you, friend." Her words were a whisper- like they always were. Smiling brightly at the small beans, Vexa studied them intently wondering what made them so much better. They were cute.. because everything tiny is.. and the pastel green looked pretty against the pink ribbon that adorned the bag. "These will be good to throw at you?"

As she looked up, Vexa noticed that the fiery redhead had all but left her to the quiet swamp. Now she was confused. Did she eat the pretty little beans or toss them at Harlowe to eat? The world may never know.
Manannán mac Lir 02/19/20 Waiting for Harlie to speak, Manannán did a slow sweep of her just as she had him. Yeah, he noticed that. She was not unaffected by him, and he was happy to exploit that as much as possible. Harlie was wearing a tiny red and black dress that hugged her curves and showed off her legs. She had used the nail polish and lipstick he’d put in the gift basket. In short, she looked good enough to eat. Like a strawberry shortcake.

When she stared into his eyes, he wondered what she saw. He knew they were a different colour now and that the darker hues might work against him since she had so loved his ocean eyes, as she always called them.

Feeling her eyes move over his body sent a thrill through him, and Manannán had an insane desire to start stripping so she could have a better view. He doubted she would stop him if he tried if her darkened gaze meant anything, and he knew the exact moment she thought about getting close to him. The almost imperceptible movement of her hands as if she longed to touch him, the slight hitch of her breath. “You need something Harlie-girl?”

Harlie didn’t know it yet, but he was not the same as he had been. Sure, he looked different, but it was more than that. Having lived more or less as a human since he had been on the earthly plane, Manannán was no longer satisfied to continue in that manner. He had shown Harlie the Otherworld on occasion and, when there, been able to move about and create what they needed in the fluid way of his people. He longed to be himself.

Then Harlie moved closer to him, and he could smell the delicious aroma of her. The soap she used, the perfume she had put on. He licked his lips a slow smile curving them until she announced she was going on a date. Looking like that. Smelling like that. For someone else. He could find no words.

When her fingers touched him, Manannán could feel the heat of her through his t-shirt, and it kick-started his brain. “No. There will be no raincheck.”

Very slowly, he walked towards her giving her no choice but to back up until she was would find herself against her door. Placing palms either side of her head, he leaned down so his mouth was near her ear, ensuring she heard every word. He kept his voice calm, the deep Irish brogue apparent as his breath would feather against her neck. “You. Are. Mine. And I have waited long enough, mo grá. You want me just as much as I want you, don’t insult me by saying otherwise. This love will no longer be denied.” Tilting her chin, he whispered against her lips. “Until the end of time.”

Then Manannán took her mouth. There was nothing sweet or gentle about his kiss. No coaxing. No supplication. It was a demand for surrender, hot and all-consuming. Nothing else existed at that moment but the taste of her on his tongue.

When he finally pulled back, their lips parting slowly, Manannán noted the slightly glassy look in Harlie’s eyes. Without another thought, he bent and lifted her onto his shoulder and carried his woman back to his room, kicking the door shut behind them with his foot.
Manannán mac Lir 02/15/20 Grinning to himself, Manannán sensed Harlie near his door, and it took everything in him not to pounce on her lovely form and drag her to his bed. Patience. She was understandably wary of him since he no longer looked like the man she once knew.

Hearing her knock then the subsequent soft pounding of feet as she ran back to her room had Manannán suppressing his laughter as he moved to the door to collect what she had left for him.

Picking up the cellophane-wrapped basket, Manannán brought it into his room and set it on the table. Upon opening it, he could not believe all the things she had packed into it. Some he would love to use on her, which he might get to do if she would accompany him to the couple’s body painting. Sighing, he knew he had to stop thinking about such things unless he wanted to take yet another cold shower.

Laying out the gifts, he came to the dark blue box. Opening it slowly, Manannán was momentarily speechless. He carefully lifted the Rolex out of its casing; it was the exact one he had meant to get for himself. Setting the timepiece up the way he liked, he left it on the table while he showered.

Coming out with his long hair still a bit damp, he had on black jeans and a dark blue t-shirt. After adding worn sneakers, he went to the table, shoved his wallet in a back pocket and picked up the Rolex to find it fit him perfectly as he put it on his left wrist.

Leaving his room at the most fortuitous moment, he looked left to see Harlie step out of her room, her skin glowing, her blue eyes beautiful and clear. Holding her gaze, he nodded slowly. “Harlie.” Manannán then flexed his left arm, so she got not only a good look at his bicep but also the beautiful watch flashing at his wrist. “Care to join me for breakfast, lass?”
Manannán mac Lir 02/14/20

After finding, what he thought, were the prettiest cupcakes, Manannán also tracked down a few other gifts that Harlie might enjoy. Some of the gifts were expensive, and some were very small, regardless he wanted something that was all about her.

Looking at the items on the table, he magically wrapped them in a basket with clear and red cellophane, neatly tied with a red bow. When Harlie would open the basket, she would find the following items: two valentine cupcakes, red Chanel lipstick, red Chanel nail polish, heart-shaped chocolates, a bottle of Dom Pérignon rosé champagne, two bath bombs that had tiny hearts that would float out as they dissolved, and a Louboutin gift voucher for one pair of shoes of any price.

Placing it outside her door for her to find, Manannán added only a note.
Dearest Harlowe
From your greatest admirer
With Love
Manannán mac Lir 02/11/20 Harlie-girl
I’m back at the coven
Need to come and see you
We have a lot to talk about and,
I need you to keep an open mind
M
Manannán mac Lir 02/05/20 Harlie
I'll be back in the next day or two.
I need to talk with you.
Something...has changed.
Be there soon.
Vexa 02/04/20 *hides in a tree*
*flicks a jelly bean at*
*silently laughs*
Manannán mac Lir 02/02/20 Bean Álainn
Aye, lass, I will be close at hand soon.
Whiskey it is, that's always an easy request to fulfil.
Is that your way of saying I'm pretty?
I'll try not to be gone so long that you don't recognise my face when I return.
Beidh grá agam duit go deo.
Manannán mac Lir 01/29/20 Gorgeous Red
Every inch of your beauty is seared into my mind, Harlie-girl.
When I return, I promise to give my very best efforts.
No matter what happens or has happened between us...
Your happiness means the most to me.
Need anything special from Ireland, lass?
Manannán mac Lir 01/28/20 Reading the next message, he laughed aloud. Yeah, he was a tease, and given a chance would make good on his promises. He longed to show the woman that was once his wife, just what they can be together. Different from before, and potentially better.

Mianach
I love to tease you, did you forget?
And, I sincerely hope I far exceed any memory or imagination.
You shall see me, very soon.
Manannán mac Lir 01/27/20 With a smile still on his face, Manannán felt his phone buzz once again. Taking the device out of his pocket, he read the message from Harlie then opened the attachments. His eyebrows shot up, he licked his lips and hissed out a breath of both admiration and frustration.

Woman
You take my breath away.
I doubt I will think of anything else.
I would return the favour, but
Your imagination will have to fill in the gaps...for now.

Manannán mac Lir 01/27/20 Walking away from Harlie was always difficult for him. Manannán loved this woman to distraction, and there was no way he would be able to control his emotions if she began dating another person. Best not to dwell on something that may never happen.

To occupy his hands and mind, he would go to Ireland and build a new home. Okay so that would take him the work of a night, but it was something.

So engrossed in his thoughts, he jumped when his phone buzzed in his back pocket. Manannán was on the fence about cell phones. At times he found them invasive but admitted they were an easy way for humans to communicate. Shaking his head to snap back to reality, he took the offending device and pushed the button to see who it was from. A slow smile formed as he read the words until the grin stretched his face with both dimples joining the party. He held the phone to his chest, right over his heart, threw back his head and closed his eyes a moment.

“Yesss!” was shouted along with a fist pump.

There was no outright declaration of love, no acceptance of his offer, but what was in that text was every bit as encouraging. He saw her heart still a little afraid but pushing her bravely forward regardless, and keeping her open to possibilities. Harlie was a complex creature, and she challenged him at every turn; he wouldn’t have it any other way. The final sign off with a touch of possessiveness got him hot all over. Taking a deep breath, Manannán’s calmed himself as his fingers flew over the tiny digital keyboard.

Banríon Mo Chroí
Coffee or something would be great.
I would love to talk this out, and I do understand your hesitation.
There’s no rush. Time is on our side.
I won’t be gone long.
Yours
M
Manannán mac Lir 01/20/20 After some time of waiting for an answer, Manannán could only take Harlie’s silence as disinterest or that she was not ready for such a move. Perhaps she was afraid. Maybe they would never be what they once were. His heart ached for what they had lost, but he didn’t want to push her in case that just pushed her away completely.

“Alright, Harlie-girl, I’ll leave you alone. You know my thoughts; you know my mind. I’m always just a call away. Tonight, I’m going for drinks with Kyla then will be in Ireland for a spell, but you know how quick I can get here if needed, especially when I’m on the earthly plane,” he paused, what else was there to say? “Take care of yourself, baby,” he smiled, leaned in and kissed her cheek then turned and left.

Manannán already looked forward to getting home to Ireland. Being there, so near the ocean, calmed him and would help him deal with his thoughts and emotions. He thought to a brief discussion they had regarding dating other people. Frankly, he hated the idea, but perhaps there was some merit to it. Were they unable to move forward together, would dating others be the catalyst to progress? Help them see who they are as people and not a couple? He shook his head and disappeared himself back to his rooms at the coven. Not yet sure exactly which way to turn, he knew something had to change.
Manannán mac Lir 01/13/20 When Harlie’s beautiful bright blue eyes went wide, he couldn’t help but smile. Manannán adored surprising her, was hoping to spend eternity doing so, but the concern clear in her eyes was valid considering all they had been through in the past year.

“Yes, that is exactly what I’m asking you. I hate not being near you, knowing you are okay. As I said, we can make it big enough, so we have our own space that you don’t feel cooped up with me. Decorate it how you like, put in the sort of rooms you need.”

They had lived close enough to feel each other’s breath for so long. This new them should provide space for other interests and the breadth to allow their new relationship not to be stifled in any way. Manannán had been holding back, had felt unsure of himself, and that was not a situation he was used to. He was too damn old to be unsure of himself, had lived too long and made more than enough mistakes to know better. Somehow Harlie made him see himself more clearly than anyone ever had. She knew his flaws, had seen his arrogance and yet she was still here, still willing to let him hold her close. After everything that had happened, this gave him the most hope.

“I love you, Harlie-girl, never stopped, never will. Come live with me, lass, let me be your man once more.”

The swaying stopped, and they stood suspended in time, looking at one another. Manannán held himself still and waited for her answer.
Manannán mac Lir 01/02/20 "Happy New Year, Harlie-girl."

Manannán took her hand and raised it to his lips to press a soft kiss to the back of it, then pulled her in close as he swayed their bodies in rhythm to imagined music.

"Here's to new beginnings. Now, as I mentioned. I have this idea."

He paused for effect, then added a smile for good measure knowing she loved his dimples.

"Let's build a huge house together. A mansion, on a hill, overlooking a beach. Big enough you won't have to see me when I annoy you. What do you think?"
Merida Campbell 12/23/19 Merida had snicked into the dungeons. She glanced around to see who as locked in and needed to be freed. She had the keys in hand. Unlocking the first door, she spoke softly "Run for it. Your free."
You managed to break out Harlowe mac Lir.

Manannán mac Lir 12/04/19 There was nothing in heaven or on earth as good as Harlie’s kisses and the way she melted into him. Though the initial spark of fear he felt within her quickly diminished, it broke his heart that it was there at all. Then her arms were tight about his neck, and soft laughter spilled from her, and it calmed his heart.

“I promise I won’t.”

Manannán looked into her bright blue eyes and smiled back just before Harlie stole the breath from him again. Her kiss was possessive in a way he hadn’t felt for far too long. Perfect. This was heaven.
Manannán mac Lir 12/02/19 Stepping up behind Harlie, Manannán spins her around and dips her over his arm in a dance pose, then kisses her soft lips passionately. If he was more of a gentleman, he might have asked first.

"I just wanted to steal your breath, as you do mine every time I look at you."
Murmur 12/02/19 Welcome to the Family if you need anything feel free to ask.

Manannán mac Lir 11/15/19 Harlie Hot Stuff
Warm skin, cold nights?
Now who is the tease?
There's someone at your door!
Manannán mac Lir 11/15/19 Reading the message, Manannán went to a local ice-creamery near Harlie's place. He picked out two flavours, a favourite for each of them, then quickly texted back to let her know he was on his way.

Harlie-G
If you think your place with ice-cream is less dangerous than coffee
Darling, you and I have a different definition of dangerous.
Think about how that ice-cream could cool down your hot skin
I am
Manannán mac Lir 11/15/19 As soon as his phone pinged Manannán read the message and smiled.

Red Goddess
I miss you as well
We could take a walk
Get some ice-cream
Maybe have a coffee?
Manannán mac Lir 11/01/19 The way Harlie’s eyes shone when she looked at the gift made his heart sing. That’s all Manannán ever wanted for her was to be happy.

“Well, that wasn’t the only part of the present. I wanted something personal for you. I’m happy you like it.”

Nodding his head, Manannán took the chain and opened the clasp, then moved behind her and held the chain open over her neck until she moved all those delicious smelling red curls out of the way, and off her neck. He wanted to kiss that smooth column of skin, but instead blew out a breath and clasped the necklace before letting it fall to her skin.

Moving to stand before her once again, he saw the necklace looked perfect on her. “It looks great! As beautiful as you are.” Then before he thought not to, he took her face between his palms and kissed her. Not a quick peck or soft kiss. No, this was passion-fueled as he dove in and tasted her thoroughly. Teasing, licking, nibbling, reminding them both of all they have been and could be to each other. Slowly pulling back, their lips parting reluctantly, Manannán smiled at her. A smile of appreciation for the woman she was and an acknowledgment of what still simmered between them. Then he whispered once again.

“Happy birthday, Harlowe.”
Vexa 11/01/19 She busies herself with the bag, peeking inside as Harlie reads the message. A little nosy yes but mostly out of curiosity. She's not been to a grocery store in the States. Well, she's not really been to a grocery store anywhere come to think of it. A bar, once. It might actually be how she ended up in a foreign country to begin with.

No sooner does Harlie, Harlowe, begin to speak, Vexa's attention turns to the woman. She thinks that she prefers the name Harlowe; it just sounds classy. Not that Harlie wasn't a good name! Harlie seemed warmer, friendlier. Harlowe sounded like a woman of leisure. Someone of money, power. Vexa smoothes her hoodie and cargo pants, somewhat self conscious now and brushes the dust from her clothes.

A chime. The Persian girl tilts her head as the phone finds her palm. She doesn't have many contacts, not really. But it seems that she has one more. A softer smile appears. Someone to talk to. A soundless laugh shakes her body and she nods vigoursly at Harlie. This woman with the bluest eyes has a sense of humour. At least Vexa can laugh at herself. She begins to tap a text out to the auburn tressed woman. I don't mind at all. Thank you. I was promised a kitchen so let's hope that I do not have to come to your home and eat all your food. She smiles then sends another text right after. I don't have many friends so that would be nice. I'm new in town.
Virelai Tylwyth 11/01/19 Vir had never had a reason to celebrate another person's birth. Certainly, she had never celebrated her own. But it was something of a tradition among the living, at least in the mortal ruled Realm, to count the years they have been alive. And if anyone deserved something extravagant for their birthday it was Harlowe. From what Vir understood, gifts were given at this time by those closest to the person, along with well wishes. Intrigued by this, she had decided to participate, even though the simple giving of gifts was a complicated thing for a creature such as she was. However, she intended to do it anyway. And of course, being herself, she didn't do anything by half.

The finishing touches and delivery took longer than she had anticipated it would. And so she was a day late in getting it to her. Hopefully, she would forgive her for that. Maybe it was a bit over the top, but that wasn't out of the ordinary for Vir. And when she saw it in the showroom, she couldn't help but think that it was meant for Harlie. So, outside of the redheaded woman's apartment, there stood a woman with white hair and a bike, a motorcycle, both of them surrounded by dozens of red lilies. It looked like a strange memorial and she got strange looks from those passing by, though it didn't bother her.

This vehicle, in particular, was called a Harley. And how fitting was it to get Harlie a Harley for her birthday? Vir leaned back against the bike as she waited for Harlowe to leave home for the day. It was sleek and black with accents of crimson splashed throughout. Across the gas tank, in gleaming red script, were the words Red Queen. She didn't know if Harlie could drive the thing, but she could learn. It was amazing the sorts of lessons humans held if you had the cash to spend on them. And throwing cash to gain knowledge was the most useful way to use it as far as Vir was concerned. There was an envelope caught under the helmet on the seat with the money for lessons just in case and her birthday wishes for her friend. For a brilliant coming year.
Manannán mac Lir 11/01/19 Sensing Harlie’s presence, Manannán looked up and stood as she approached. When she moved in close, her perfume washed over him.

“Of course, I did. I hope you like what I got you.”

Then Harlie slipped her arms around his waist and stretched her body against his before kissing his lips softly. He savoured the taste of her and Manannán’s arms automatically went around her to hold her close before he remembered he had another small gift .

“One moment,” he said then pulled a box out of his front pocket. “For you. Happy birthday, Harlie.”

The box when she would open it contained a gold chain with an elegant H pendant that had three diamonds embedded across the horizontal line in the H.
Vexa 11/01/19 Chicken and dumplings. It sure sounds delicious. Vexa likes chicken; dumplings she's never consumed. Not the usual fare for a bedouin tribe but neither is beignets and gumbo. But she has Tante Marie to thank for those. She nods eagerly, that yes, she would in fact love to experience chicken and dumplings. A larger smile finds her face and she points to the bags. "I can carry." Again, barely a whisper, dark eyes studying the woman. "I help."

She forgoes any real sentence structure as her words are generally unheard. It makes her appear to be less intelligent but also less imposing. But most people are really nice and tend to work with her! Maybe it's pity but Vexa would simply like to believe that people are kind. It is also unfortunate that she does not carry her satchel this evening. If she had a small notepad, it would be easier to communicate. Which reminds her that she has a phone. Pulling the phone free from a cargo pocket, fingertips find her notepad app and begin to peck out a message. Vexa is a 'nickname', I think you would say in your language. My given name is Shirin. I am from the deserts of the Persian Empire, the best way I can explain. Similar to bedouin. It's very kind of you to invite me to your home for dinner, Harlie. She offers the phone to Harlie and slowly moves to take one of the bags. Hopefully to lighten the load, so to speak.
Manannán mac Lir 10/31/19 Manannán had almost missed wishing Harlie a happy birthday. The present she would receive when she got home was a practical one. A spa retreat for personal pampering, she would have to do nothing except relax and be waited on hand and foot punctuated with any massages she might like over a long weekend. It included a double reservation in case she wanted to take a friend along with her. He had another gift for her, but that one would require her to reach into his pocket.

Beautiful Harlie
Happy Birthday
I hope your birthday was all you wanted it to be
There might be a little something waiting for you when you arrive home.
Love Always, All Ways

Vexa 10/31/19 The woman seems to feel ill at ease around the raven tressed girl. Which only causes thick, dark brows to raise and cat-like eyes to widen. Is it a look of innocence? One of surprise? Should she be offended that the woman feels nervous? Are there secrets hidden behind those furrowed brows? A smile grows, hangs like a crescent moon from richly tanned complexion. No, she cannot speak; Vexa shakes her head. Yes, she can hear; Vexa nods. She points to herself and mouths 'Vexa', a hint of a whisper across full lips. Is she hungry..

Mahogany eyes drop to the bags that hang from Harlie's arm, pupils dilate. She's practically drooling at the thought there might be food hidden within. All Vexa can think of really is Tante Marie's gumbo and beignets. She leans closer to peer into the bags. Again, this whole personal space thing doesn't exist.
Vexa 10/31/19 She's hungry. But then, Vexa is always hungry. As the woman retreats, the girl takes a step closer. Personal boundaries? What's that? Her head tilts, coppery eyes fixate on the woman's red locks. Fingers reach but stop. Too much. Too much personal space. The girl's head rights itself and the fingers that once reached for those fiery locks turn to point at an open mouth. Food. She is looking for food. Or maybe she's simply saying she has no voice. Who knows. Tawny eyes are still staring though. With much intent.
Manannán mac Lir 10/30/19 Manannán grinned at her response; he loved her fiery possessive side. They both had that in spades.

Seeing you fighting aliens? I picture a skin tight suit and a ray gun!
I would create anything within my power for you. Name it!

Manannán mac Lir 10/30/19 Beautiful Red
Harlie, I just wanted to let you know
In case I forget to say this later
Or the world ends
Or I get abducted by aliens
That you looked beautiful tonight.

Manannán mac Lir 10/27/19 Those eyes of hers usually so clear and blue were now darkened, a little stormy even. Manannán recognised that look, remembered how her eyes darkened just like this when they were skin to skin. He longed for that time again, but also knew where they were now was not the same. He secretly enjoyed this tentative friendship they had where they got to begin anew, get to know one another and build trust once again. The flirting and desire were outrageous, and he couldn’t count how many cold dips in the ocean that it took to cool him down.

So, here she was desire darkening her eyes and a finger tracing over his shirt as if petting the tattoo on his chest. Magnificent, maddening, he adored her as much now as he always had. Manannán gritted his teeth so as not to shout his love for her once again. She must know.

‘You’re it.”

Then she was gone, and a smile curved his lips as he realised, with those words, she was recalling the game they had played the day they met. She tagged him and took off which ended in a coffee and cake date, and the sweetest kiss he ever tasted.

Sighing Manannán took out his phone as he had an idea; he wanted to share with her.

Harlie Girl
There’s a masquerade ball I would like to attend with you
If you’re interested, I have an idea for a couples costume
Will call with the details
Yours forever
Dimple boy
Manannán mac Lir 10/23/19 Hearing Harlie’s soft giggles soothed Manannán’s heart as nothing else could. He loved to see her breathless and carefree. The memories of her just like this flooded his mind, and he grinned wider in response.

Then there was that spark of desire, seldom not present when they were together, apart from their first meeting upon his return. Harlie had every right to be so angry with him, she had been through a lot, and he had not been there for her. Regardless of the hows and the whys, he hadn’t been there to save her. Also, Manannán had then taken her vengeance from her. He was a sh-t for that, and yet this beautiful woman still had feelings for him. So, after all that he had done, she was still stood in front of him, and that made him the luckiest, god/man/being in the universe.

Eyes tracking the movement of her tongue, Manannán had a mind to get in close for another taste, and her soft, husky voice thrilled him all over again. Yeah, she was as affected by him as he was by her. He bit his lip as she moved closer. “Oh Harlie-girl, ‘needy’ is my specialty,” he said on a groan, “and you’re killing me, in the best possible way.”
Manannán mac Lir 10/21/19 Heart beating fiercely, Manannán placed a large palm over his chest and faked a swoon as his frame hit the wall behind him. While he was playful, Harlie’s soft, sweet kisses had actually affected him to that degree. They always would. Now he had the feel of her hands on his cheeks and her lips on his like a brand on his skin.

The scent she wore clung to him after she moved away and Manannán felt overwhelmed by her with the taste of her still on his lips. He loved it, wanted more, but held himself still where he was by sheer force of will. It was all he could do not to reach for her again. Harlie fit him, perfectly.

When she spoke her quietly whispered southern drawl, hit him in places best left unsaid. A growl clawed its way back up his throat once more, and he marvelled at the way her presence brought out his animal side. Or maybe that’s just because his ‘animal’ kept a low profile these days. He doubted that though, Harlie just had that way about her, made a man crave something delicious. To him, she was all manner of deliciousness, if only he could take a bite.

“Too quiet, you say? You know you can always give me a call if you need to be…excited,” he said his voice huskier than expected. He cleared his throat and sent a wink her way. “And, you’re welcome, anytime. I mean that. Anything you need, I’ll be there.”
Manannán mac Lir 10/19/19 Feeling the pull of the only woman who’s name was wrapped around his heart, Manannán went to the dungeons of the realm. The place where there was no torture but the newly initiated would get suspended in a sort of dreary time out. He knew Harlie was not in danger but would be pacing whatever cage she found herself. The thought sobered him. He wouldn’t want her having any flashbacks or trauma from being in a dungeon.

Before he knew it, he was in front of her cell. Even before he got there, he could smell her perfume. Harlie was a sight to behold even amongst the gloom. A smile curled his lips, both dimples appearing. “Having some quiet time, mo chroi? Here, let me get the door for you.”

You managed to break out Harlowe mac Lir.

Gesturing for her to exit with a bow of his head, his ocean gaze tracked her form. She was everything he wanted, from the swish of her red curls to the sway of her hips and confident stride of her slender legs. Manannán stifled an impatient and animalistic growl as he watched her walk passed. “Be safe, Harlie-girl.”
Manannán mac Lir 10/15/19 She. Said. Yes

That one word was spinning around in his head. She had agreed to a romantic date with him. He hadn’t stated romantic, but the scenario he laid out implied such. He was going to make this the best damn date Harlie had ever been on, and that was saying something coming from a man who had manifested a blessing of unicorns for her.

Manannán went to speak and tripped over his words. He was so thrilled Harlie had accepted since he expected her to turn him down. He cleared his throat and then started again. “Thank you, Harlie. I promise it will be a night to remember, and that nothing will happen that you don’t want to happen. Just two people getting to know one another.”

Gently removing his arms from about her person, he stepped back. They were no longer married, and this would be their first date as the people they are now, and yet they could kiss one another with such passion and desire. If nothing else came of anything, the memory of that kiss was his forever.

“I’ll meet you at the marina at 8 pm. I think you know the place. I’ll let you get on your way unless you want to go another round.”
Virelai Tylwyth 10/14/19 After parting ways with the man she had captured her third picture from, Yule found herself a little out of the way cafe and slipped inside. She had taken to selecting random drinks from menus in these places, humans made the most interesting mixtures with something they called coffee. It certainly perked up her energy and the taste was usually either bitter or sweet. Given she didn't know what exactly the things were by name – they could be so convoluted – it was like a guessing game to see what flavors she detected.

After ordering a drink and receiving it, she sat in a corner seat beside a window so that she could continue to peer outside at the passersby. She took a sip and blinked, taking a second. This one was sweet and creamy, mixed with cinnamon and something nutty. It was deliciously indulgent. She took a third sip and smiled before pulling out her phone. She owed Harlowe a new text of her newest acquaintance.

Dearest Harlowe,
Three down, two to go! You will have to show me how to create one of those nifty little folders to keep all of these photos as documentation. It will certainly make for an interesting memento. I hope you are doing well. You were right, the morning has been lovely thus far. Hopefully the evening will be just as nice.

Yours,
Yule
Manannán mac Lir 10/14/19 As the kiss ended, they had somehow become tangled around one another. Harlie’s hands were on him, fingertips caressing his chest. His arms were around her waist, holding her gently should she want to move away. She didn’t.

Admiring her flushed cheeks, bright eyes and plump, pouty just-kissed lips, Manannán was hard-pressed not to go in for another. He should back off, put a little distance between them. He didn’t.

Keeping her close to him, still caressing her face, he heard her say ‘dare’, and his grin grew wider. “Good, still brave. I dare you to go on a date with me. A chartered yacht, gentle midnight breeze, moon reflecting on the water, champagne on ice.”

“What do you say, Harlie-girl? Game?”
Virelai Tylwyth 10/14/19 Yule knew her friend wouldn't pass up the opportunity to take a dare, not after the mischief she had created herself. Delighted that she knew the woman so well, Yule had already decided on what she would challenge her friend to do. She had put quite a lot of thought into it. Given the current tensions between Harlowe and Manannán a little nudge in the right, or wrong, direction would prove most interesting. And Yule was very curious to see what Harlie would do with all of that mounting tension. On top of that, she was ever curious of the interactions between people, the relationships they created. How they were built, how they came apart. It was fascinating to her. And so with that thought in mind she began to type.

Dearest Harlowe
You sound like you're in a good mood. That's good. I'm having a lovely time myself. I'm out hunting for my next “victim” as we speak! So far so good but we shall see how things progress. I'm glad you're feeling adventurous.

The time is right I think for a bit of fun. So my challenge to you is to ask someone out on a date. Not just any date, mind you, but a 50s style one. I'm talking diner dinner, drive-in movie, dancing perhaps. Rollerskating? I hear that's quite popular. The possibilities are endless. I hear it's a thing called vintage now. Must be complete with costuming. And something called a rootbeer float – because I've yet to have one and I am curious as to what such a concoction looks like. If you find a good place for them perhaps we can go together at another time. As with my dare, photographic evidence is required. I want to see all the steps! I'm certain it will prove to be a lovely time!

Have fun!
Yours,
Yule
Virelai Tylwyth 10/14/19 Yule had spent a fraction of the morning in search of her third challenge to take – it wasn't as easy as she had hoped it would be, of course, that was half the fun in it – when inspiration struck. She decided now would be a good time to issue her own question to Harlowe, her dear friend who had set her upon this task. Sometimes, simple was best, and so with that in mind she stopped a moment to send a quick text to the redhead.

My Fiery Best Friend,
Dearest Harlowe,
Good morning! I hope you are having a lovely day thus far, but the time has come to play again. So what will it be, my darling friend? Truth or dare?

Yours,
Yule
Manannán mac Lir 10/14/19 “Ohhh, brave girl,” Manannán purred as he moved in a little closer. Since Harlie had set the dare, he decided she also permitted him to do what he was thinking in the manner he chose.

They were still on shaky ground, so he respected that. He was also mindful of the trauma Harlie had been through, but there was no denying his presence soothed her as it once had. Slipping a hand behind her neck, Manannán gently brought her closer to him, giving her all the time in the world to get away. When she didn’t pull back, gently kissed her lips, nibbling the soft flesh until on a whispered sigh, she parted them and let him in. Taking her mouth on a sensual ride, he used all the skills and years of experience at his disposal to make the single kiss an unforgettable moment.

Pulling back slowly, he smiled at her again as their lips parted, then rubbed his thumb along her jaw just happy to look at her for this moment, treasure it, not knowing when the next opportunity may come along.

“I’m thoroughly pleased I chose dare now,” he said, his voice soft and melodic. “And now you, Harlie. What’s your choice, truth or dare?”
Manannán mac Lir 10/13/19 The sudden appearance of Harlie was always a welcomed sight. Manannán was still more than happy to be in her presence. Right now, though, she stood before him eyeing him head to toe as if he was her favourite flavour of ice-cream. As her eyes travelled over him, so too did his over her. Her slim form, long legs and alabaster skin begged to be touched, and he could recall every intimate moment they had ever had. He wanted to feel the softness of her against him as he buried his face in her red locks that he knew would smell incredible. To him, she was perfection, and he longed to hold her in his arms again.

As her eyes slowly returned to his, Manannán captured her perfect sky-blue eyes with his. He then flicked his eyes over her form again, so she knew he had been checking her out as well. A slow smile lit his face as she adjusted his collar that didn’t need adjusting at all. He would admit to leaning into her touch as she brushed her fingers over his shoulders. He licked his full bottom lip, watching as her eyes tracked the movement before he spoke.

“I know I said it would always be truth, Harlie-girl, but I’m curious as to what sort of dare you might ask of me,” his Irish accent drew out the words. “Dare!”
Virelai Tylwyth 10/13/19 It didn't actually take long for Yule to encounter the second person for her challenge and once again he obliged her quite kindly. She was both delighted and intrigued by the development. Perhaps she had a knack for picking just the right kind of person for such an interesting game. Or maybe it was pure luck, who knew. But with each person she encountered, her mood lifted, and she grew to enjoy the game even more. There was something chaotic about it and that suited her well.

And so, as promised, she made sure to send Harlie proof of her accomplishment of her end of the challenge. Her lips pulled into a grin as she typed and sent the image, eyes gleaming with mischevious mirth.

Bestie

Darling Harlowe. Attached below is another picture to show that I have done as dared to do. I'm having quite a lovely time playing this game. All thanks to you. But be warned, I'll have to come up with something to pay you back for this, don't you think? I do hope this will suffice.

Yours,
Yule
Virelai Tylwyth 10/13/19 Yule pulled quickly typed out a message to her friend. She was certainly getting more adaquate at using this starange little device. She might even go so far as to say she was beginning to enjoy it, human though it was. Once the message was written she attached the photo as promised.

Bestie

Harlow! You devious demoness, you! I have done as requested. One down, two to go. I hope this is proof enough for you! I owe you a drink at the bar. I'll mix something up special just for you.

Yours,
Yule
Virelai Tylwyth 10/13/19 Yule turned her head at Harlowe approach, the woman's eyes positively glistening like warm wet pools full of mischevious intent. The words left her lips and Yule crossed her arms, c0cked her hip out the side, and weighed the question, trying to fight the grin playing at the corners of her mouth. She'd never been one to run from a challenge, after all, and there was challenge written all over her best friend's expression. A chaotic possibility lingering there that drew Yule's attention.

She smiled, at last, twisted a lock of hair around her fingertip and laughed. "Dare, of course, Darling Harlie. What fun would it be otherwise?"
Manannán mac Lir 10/07/19 Hearing and feeling his phone beep in his pocket, Manannán fished it out, and a grin lit up his face when he saw it was from Harlie. Though he knew the context of their current text, any contact from her made him light up.

The morning after their night of drinking and truth or dare had been a little awkward. He'd left while Harlie was in the shower because he wanted to join her as he had so many times before. Uncertain if she was ready for that he left before he did something, he couldn’t take back. The problem was, he couldn’t get her out of his head. He loved this woman to distraction, nothing had changed in his heart or mind, and not being around her was driving him crazy. He knew what he wanted. He just needed to figure out how to convince her of the same.

Beautiful
Wonderful, I think I can hit that.
Anything I need? Only you.
I will see you there.
Manannán mac Lir 10/06/19 Looking at the flyer Harlie had given him, he couldn't see what the dress code or expectation was. Well, it gave him another reason to talk to her, even if the suggestion of a date still left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Gorgeous Red
Harlie, I forgot to ask
What is the dress code for this place on the flyer?
Don't want to turn up in toga to a punk party!
Manannán mac Lir 10/03/19 Dropping his arms, Manannán nodded and smiled. He noticed Harlie lost herself looking at him, so he refused to drop his gaze unless she did. Then the moment passed.

"Of course, you'll see me there."

He raised his brows as her beautiful blue eyes lingered on his form, then she was moving away. Thinking the exchange was over he turned to go as well when she spun back towards him to deliver one of those blows that only someone you still love can do. Manannán's brow furrowed at the mixed signals she was giving him, then swallowed hard at her words and pasted on a fake smile.

"Thanks, I will do."
Manannán mac Lir 10/03/19 Heading out of a café, Manannán stepped down a few steps into the sunshine and was about to put on sunglasses when he felt Harlie’s presence nearby. Turning to look at her, he smiled as she came up to him, her arms full of paper. Moving in closer, she looked up at him, and he enjoyed looking at her fresh sunwashed face.

Harlie pushed a flyer into his hand from the top of the enormous pile she carried, and as she spoke, he read it. “Yes, Harlie, if you’re asking me to be, you’ll see me there. Can I help you with that? The stack’s almost taller than you.” He held out his arms in the event she wanted to dump some of the load on him.
Virelai Tylwyth 10/01/19 Yule had arrived in Tokyo mere hours before and now strolled down the densely populated streets, filled with more humans than she had ever seen in one place. So much had transpired the last few weeks, things just out of the mortals sight. And yet, there was a sense of urgency in the air, of darkness that lingered in the too deep shadows cast through the city.

Lights blossomed along the streets well before nightfall, children clung more tightly to their mothers and fathers, parents kept a wary eye on every passing stranger, and especially on every child. Even so, all across Japan people were readying for autumn and with the changing season, the autumn festivals. In the places dominated by nature, the trees changed color, the people wore garments of silk and other fine fabrics that mimicked the beauty of the world around them.

If Yule had not come to this place for a very specific reason, she would have immersed herself within it, felt the waves – the ebb and flow – of this great sensation as the dark season drew near. She had never seen such revelry and she wondered if the battle to come would spill into the streets, destroy the beauty of it all. And she wondered further if she would welcome it and the chaos it caused or if she would feel in her humanity the loss of such joy.

She noticed something else as she made her way through this place, watching, observing, calculating. More and more creatures touched by the Other were intermingling with the mortals, slipping through shadows, perhaps searching them for smiling faces and the aura of hatred the beasts who were wreaking havoc gave off.

Her phone chimed as she passed yet another one of those creatures, using the distraction to allow her gaze to drift away from them, downcast, hidden by her mask as she passed them. She read the messages even as she continued to walk through the crowd, unconcerned of seeing where she was going. A smile tugged at her lips, both filled with warmth and bemused.

Her friend had given her advice, the redheaded woman excited to see Yule take interest in another living being. That interest born of the strange craving to understand a creature the likes of which she had never met before. And yet, Harlie's advice to the situation had been very human and difficult to interpret. Filled Yule with emotions she could not quite identify, not that she tried very hard to do so, given that they were of mortals. She did not want to lose herself in those feelings, confusion, intrigue, curiosity. And yet, they were a fundamental part of her very nature.

Indeed, she had found the one she had gone hunting and yet the aggressive nature of that hunt – born of her friends advice – had only left her with the growing desire to know more. What was he really? Where did he come from? What was the strange connection through chaos that they shared? Was he like her? Kin of her kin? Or was he something else, something that would forever remain incomprehensible to her? She could not say yet. But she was a patient hunter and a clever one at that. Only time would tell. And it was with these things in mind that she replied to her friend, a bright smile curling her lips.

Bestie
Indeed, I did find him. Seeking him out was sound advice. Though the hunt has provided less information than I would have liked, thus far. Still. He does not seem threatened by me. So perhaps he will allow me to learn more. To understand the strange otherness within him.

She paused thoughtfully and moved to stand beneath one of those bright red trees that bloodied the sky even in the middle of the city.

Perhaps he would accept my invitation to our event. If I get the chance, I will ask him.

After all, it may prove interesting.

How are you? And things with Manny?
Yours,
Yule

She almost decided against sending that last question. But Yule was just as curious about Harlie's strange interactions with the man who had been her friend's husband as she was about the peculiar creature she was still hunting.
Manannán mac Lir 09/30/19 As Manannán waited for Yule to be ready to enter Harlie's apartment he sent Harlie a brief message.
Gorgeous Red
Surprised you are letting me come up to your place
But, I’m very happy you are
I promise to be on my best behaviour and leave if you ask me to
Virelai Tylwyth 09/24/19 Bestie
Dear Harlie,
Thank you for the gifts!
This is indeed a strange device, but I can understand why you like it so much!
To think someone could send letters with the touch of a few buttons!
And what strange magic! That it could predict the words I wish to say before I even finish saying them. Amazing!
And look at this! It even has little faces! I will send one as well.
(‐^▽^‐)Look! It is a happy face!
It will take some getting used to but this will surely assist me in my quest!
I will write again!
Sincerely,
Yule
Virelai Tylwyth 09/23/19 Yule sat in a quiet corner at a small oak desk, the rest of the building around her was in need of repair at best, decaying at worst. It would take a lot of work to get it sorted but she was willing to put in the effort if it meant she would have a place she could call her own. Now, though, there was another task she needed to attend to and she pulled a fresh sheet of thick parchment – scented like lavender and green growing things – and dipped a quill pen into a pot of ink.

My Dearest Harlowe, The letter began, written in a flourishing and practiced hand.

Preparations are coming along...nicely. There is still much to do, cleaning and decorating. We should go – what's the phrase? – window shopping soon and make use of our time. Perhaps after things calm down a bit. We wouldn't want anything to be wrecked in the havoc being created. Still, I find I am impatient, even though I would prefer not to trek more blood through this place, I'm afraid I've never been very good at waiting.

But I digress. How are you? Has the chaos been difficult for you? I must admit I've been enjoying myself, though perhaps that is improper of me. There is something delightful about the energy coursing through the Realm's veins and I hope to return soon. After I get a bit more done here, clear out the main room at least.

I've little else to report at the moment. I do hope to see you soon. Please, be sure that you stay safe while I am away. Not that you need any protection from me. But you are my closest friend and I would be very upset if anything happened to you. I would avenge you of course, but even that would not make up for your loss. So keep your wits about you. And do write me back if you have the time.

Sincerely Yours,
Yule
Manannán mac Lir 09/23/19 As Manannán stood near Yule and Nic his phone chimed in his pocket. He took it out and read over the message from Harlie. A heavy sighed puffed from his lips.

My Love
I was talking about now
Giving up then, I completely understand
I'm not busy, a party doesn't make one busy
Your messages are more important
*sigh* I will leave you be
For now

Sending the message he frowned and decided to check in on her when the party was over.
Manannán mac Lir 09/23/19 Harlie
I know you don't want to hear from me
I need you to know that you can still rely on me
If you have need of my help, I won't let you down again
Don't give up on me so easily
I never gave up on you
Always in my heart
Shannon Taylor 09/16/19 Comfort food? Desperate for fun? This poor woman seemed to be going through a difficult moment, and Shannon was feeling of the right mood to help.

"Hi Harlowe. I hope to be allowed to call you Harlie... soon." She added a warm smile as she graciously accepted the bags from her. 'Funny you should mention that, because, I don't usually accept food offers from peoples whose pockets I try and pick.. men or women."

They slowly fell into step, walking together as Shannon wondered how far they would need to be going for this impromptu dinner. "Well, I'm not sure exactly what your notion of FUN is... but I'm sure the wine will help us figure that out yes? I will certainly do my part...."

whatever that may be... she thought. She knew she could be setting herself up for trouble, but Harlie seemed fairly pure in her words. This could turn out to be quite an adventure!

Shannon Taylor 09/16/19 Shannon gave no pause before answering. "Plans? The only plans I had tonight involved me and this bottle of wine. Grandma's mac and cheese and good company sound like my plans are getting an upgrade. Shannon's gaze never broke as she offered her hand.

"Nice to meet you, even if under quite comical circumstances. My name is Shannon. Sorry about that by the way. I have the money to pay for the bottle, old habits I'm afraid." She gave a mischievous shrug and a soft laugh.

Offering to take a couple of the bags to help lighten her load she looked at her curiously. And to whom might I have the pleasure of enjoying the good company of?"

Shannon Taylor 09/15/19 Shannon looked at the bottle of Napa Valley Cabernet in her right hand, the one she was hoping to get for free with the help of a freshly picked pocket. Continuing to smile at the red head she brought the bottle into view with an incline of her head and a wider smile. "Comfort food deserves good wine....and good wine deserves good company."
Shannon Taylor 09/14/19 laughed as the woman turned around, admonishing her for her failed attempt. She looked down with a sheepish grin at the paper in her hands. Her eyes carefully slid over the list and she slowly handed it back to the redhead before making eye contact with a soft smile.

"I wanted to see what was for dinner."

Virelai Tylwyth 09/14/19 Yule sauntered through the twisting, labyrinthine underbelly that was the city dungeon as if she owned the place, as if she belonged there. A strange sense to have. This place had been home for a brief while, a place she could shelter herself within from the constant noise of the people who roamed the streets above. She had spent so much time here, in fact, that she was beginning to recognize the faces she saw and her skill in getting them out of trouble increased.

It was because of this that she stopped at the cell with a familiar face. A smile curled her lips and she curled her hands around the bars, leaning forward. “Hello there. We meet again it seems.” Yule slid her right hand down the bars, caressing the metal with her gloved hand. Stripping off the glove she set to work on the lock. Luck was on her side and it took her only one attempt to snap the metal free, her other hand swinging the door open.

“Care for an afternoon stroll? The scenery isn't particularly impressive but I'm told one can find amusement even in the smallest of things.”

You managed to break out Harlowe mac-Lir.
Manannán mac Lir 09/13/19 Harlie-girl
Do you prefer another flavour?
Just say, I'll come over right now, with something else.
New friends? Darling, I wasn't the one kissing random strangers.
Even via text am I detecting jealousy?
See, you do still love me.

Knowing this would rile her a bit he sent it anyway. He loved seeing her fired up for the right reasons, of course.
Manannán mac Lir 09/12/19 Sitting in his room in the coven, he had already made the small space comfortable and homely. He couldn't bear to be in his home in Ireland right now. Without Harlie, it felt too big. He held his phone in his hands weighing up whether to text her or not when the thing chimed between his palms. Smiling, her message lifted a small piece of the stone that weighed his heart down. She could have ignored his gifts and said nothing. She hadn't taken that path. Grá Mo Chroí
Why would I give up?
You said yourself, the unicorns would be a hard act to follow
Besides, salted caramel trumps everything, doesn't it?
I miss you
Manannán mac Lir 09/10/19 Manannán finally located the place where Harlie was staying before she returned home. He carefully laid chocolates, wine and flowers at her door with a note.

Dearest Harlie - just a small something for you to enjoy and relax with. Know that you are always in my thoughts and heart. Love Manny xoxox
Virelai Tylwyth 09/03/19 Yule paused in her casual stride at the sound of the woman's voice, soft as it may have been, and turned to look over her shoulder. She matched that smile with a grin of her own, a lighter, more delicate twist of her lips than she was used to wearing.

Her voice carried back down the corridor like a cool wind. "Any time."
Virelai Tylwyth 09/03/19 Yule had been stalking through the dungeons for some time, having left behind carnage she had created in the deeper recesses. She slipped in and out of the shadows, her bright white grin gleaming in the darkness every so often. She had left something of herself behind in that room and in doing so had felt a strange sense of release, a weight being lifted from her shoulders. It had made things easier, had made her body move more freely.

Stopping outside of another cell, she left the pick in the pocket where they were and stripped off one of her gloves. Her hand reached out and brushed against the lock, watching the ice crystals form and around it, within it, until she was satisfied. And then, when a slow smile, she jammed the heel of her palm against it, shattering the metal, allowing it to fall to pieces on the floor.

Stepping back, Yule pulled the iron door open and gave a short bow, leveling her eyes on the cell's occupant. "I do hope this helps. Best of luck to you." With that she turned, sliding her hands into her pockets, and started down the corridor once more.

You managed to break out Harlowe mac-Lir.
Manannán mac Lir 09/01/19 Eyebrows popping up from his head, he couldn't believe what he was reading.

Harlie
Slow down! What do you mean you've been in hell?
'Kept you company', what the f-ck! Did they touch you??
Demons are known liars, why would you believe anything they say?
I got stuck in the Otherworld helping Ilbhreac, my son.
Now, tell me did they touch you!
Manannán mac Lir 09/01/19 Harlowe!
What the f-ck do you mean, cheating?
And, what the f-ck do you mean, ex??
I've been stuck in the Otherworld
Why do you always assume the worst?
Manannán mac Lir 09/01/19 My Queen
Harlie?
Where are you?
I've been waiting at our apartment for days.
You know I could find you in an instant, but I'm trying to give you space if that is what you need.
But, I won't wait long.
You belong to me!
Ciaran_M_Boru 09/01/19 "I havent seen him lass. I was. My name is Ciaran Boru. I heard he was back but where I dont know. I am sure he looking for ya though. I cant see him not. If I see him I will let him know you were looking for him." ~ Ciaran smiles.~
LillyEmperium 09/01/19 *Pursing her lips together, Lilly looked to her as she thought for a moment* I do believe he's returned as well dear
Daxx- 09/01/19 "No Ma'am I have not. I hope you find him though it seems you have a lot of things you wish to say to him."
Ciaran_M_Boru 09/01/19 Welcome back
LillyEmperium 09/01/19 Welcome back
Daxx- 09/01/19

Daxx walks up to the newest member of the Realm. The Eternal Embrace Pirate smiled. "Welcome to the Realm. Have some Rum on me."
Shadwyn Drake 09/01/19 Welcome back!
Virelai Tylwyth 09/01/19 Humming softly, Yule was rustling through a desk in the sparsely furnished apartment – searching for paper and a pen – when a little, leather-bound black book came zipping across the room towards her head. Without looking in the direction of it, she caught the corner and sat up, setting the piece of parchment and the pen she had found on the flat surface of the desk.

With a soft sigh, she opened the buttery leather cover and ran her finger down the page, scrolling along the list tucked inside. It seemed there were new arrivals come to the Realm and she, in her own way, had decided to welcome them. Though she had no association or status herself, a man who had been kind enough to help her had said that if she were able, she pay that kindness forward. And so she had decided to do just that.

Pen and book in hand, she wrote a short note in elegantly looping script across two of the pieces of paper. Enclosing a small gift and sealing each of them with a blob of hot red wax, she stamped a spindly flower into its center and sent them off with a wave of her hand. It wasn't much, but perhaps it would help them along on their journeys. The letters would arrive at their intended destination one way or another, even though there were no names or addresses to guide them. She knew that this was a more impersonal greeting but she hoped it would be enough to keep her word.
