Gray Taylor 11/05/19 Taking a seat beside the girl, Gray comfortably puts an arm around her slender shoulders in a bizarre show of brotherly affection. "...Claire Taylor has a nice ring to it."

He smirks. He can't quite help himself.
Gray Taylor 09/21/19 Claire
I want you and Sarah to lock yourselves up at home.
No going out. No visitors.
There is a gun in my desk.
Left side, second drawer, under the false bottom.
Sarah Taylor 08/27/19 “Sweet girl!” Sarah comes Into the office, ignoring the work being done as she waltzes behind Claire’s chair and proceeds to gently rub her shoulders. “I have been thinking about you all day. All. Day.” Leaning forward, she presses the softest, most loving kiss to her cheek before whispering her most favorite promise. “I love you.”
Gray Taylor 08/21/19 Claire
You two, enjoy.
Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.
And don’t hesitate to call me if you need.
Gray Taylor 08/21/19 Claire
Let’s play it by ear. We won’t be staying in the city long.
But f-ck knows we may travel after.
Why would you two have to go?
I’m not going to ask you to do that.
Gray Taylor 08/20/19 Claire
Such faith.
We're going to need flights booked to New York.
Some thing with Wahnsinn.
Honestly, Orlav is a terror.
Gray Taylor 08/20/19 Claire
Of course.
Were you worried?
Gray Taylor 08/20/19 Claire
Never mind. We are good.
Gray Taylor 08/14/19 Claire
I need you to do me a favor.
Mackenzie 08/08/19 Reading the messages as they come in, Mackenzie sinks back into her seat and frowns, glancing toward Jasper's unmanned desk with a pathetic sort of look in her eyes. Grief is something she has made a home in several times over, and there is only one person that has ever pulled her from those depths.

Claire
It's not silly at all.

Claire
One time, I lost someone very dear to me. I made a home in that grief. Waited and waited for them to come back for years. But if care isn't taken, you can get lost. The only advice I can offer is to hold Sarah and Gray close, lean on them, and let them be there for you - even if it means putting your all into them.

A moment of consideration is taken, lips pressed together as she considers things. It is difficult to be in this position, to feel like a burden and swallow ones pride. Sighing, she shakes her head gently.

Claire
I'll always be here for you. No matter what.

With that, Mackenzie makes a call, reaching out to Henri. Strict instructions are given. Medical books, journals, all of it, would be carefully packed and overnighted to the first and only sister she has ever had. But on her own, she goes out, taking her time to shop before sending off her own gift wrapped neatly and boxed. A leather bound journal, the pages clean and waiting to be loved.

Claire,
For you, and Elias.
All my love,
Mackenzie
Sarah Taylor 08/07/19 Sweet Girl
Of course, I will.
I'm so excited.
Gray has a boyfriend!

The text barely arrives before she is stepping off the elevator, practically skipping over to the desk where she sits on the corner and cranes to get a better look into the office. "Oh, wow... look at them."

What is whispering?
Sarah Taylor 08/07/19 Sweet Girl
The same one from last week?
New one? What's he look like?
What are they doing?
I'm coming down there.
Sarah Taylor 08/03/19 How is she still alive right now? Sarah scoots as she is bid, watching Claire with a look of pure awe as she works the machine like she was literally made to do so. The screen is emptied of the red, green, and nude. The app reappears. The calendar fills. Jaw dropping, completely inspired, Sarah looks up at the girl beside her. "He taught you how to fix everything...?"

Not so much a question, and more a statement. And then, as her shame returns, Sarah stands and reaches for Claire's hand. "I'm sorry for making a mess," she begins, wetting her lips nervously. "And for trying to make it look like an accident. It- it was an accident, it just... you know...

"I think that's something we definitely have in common." Smiling slightly, her brows raise imploringly. "Am I grounded for life?"
Mackenzie 08/03/19 This is oddly refreshing. Mackenzie had never expected any sort of relationship, but there is an odd sort of comfort that comes from it. Needless to say, she'd completely understand if Claire wanted nothing to do with her, but...

Claire
There's no worry. Promise.
You are very capable.

Too much?

Claire
I'm glad things are getting better.
It's okay, here. Rather doing the same as you.

Claire
You're welcome. If there is anything you want, just let me know. Truly. And the hanging that sketch is far from that. It's sweet, and personal. Anyone who thinks poorly of it can beat it.

Claire
Are there any books you'd like?
Sarah Taylor 08/03/19 A hand is raised, halting her from coming closer. The other remains as she attempts to hide her utter shame. "I wanted to see who Gray was smiling at and I accidentally cleared his schedule. And then I tried to fix it, and deleted the calendar."

Swallowing, her hand drops to reveal the utter upset and worry written upon her features. Is she breathing? She can't tell if she is breathing. Surely, she'd be able to tell if she weren't getting air. "And now, the screen is covered in..." clearing her throat, she lowers her voice to near a whisper, "festive man bits..."
Sarah Taylor 08/03/19 Sarah is in a panic, but completely defeated. Sitting back in the Claire's chair, behind her desk, her face is in her hands and her breathing slow. All the while, her brother in his meeting. When she hears the door open, Sarah would peek between her fingers at her sweet girl and let out a whimper. "I'm sorry. Please don't be angry with me."
Mackenzie 08/03/19 Claire
Checking in. How are you?

Claire
Is that okay? To check in?
Sarah Taylor 05/08/19 Claire
You, too.
Stay sweet.
Sarah Taylor 05/08/19 Claire
I'm glad.
I miss you, sweet girl.
Sarah Taylor 05/08/19 Claire
Did you make it home alright?
How are you?
Gray Taylor 05/03/19 “Mm..” Gray glances away, settling his sights upon her vanity as he mulls it all over. A minute would pass by before he finally speaks. “I am more than certain she will find nothing to forgive. But when she travels to London, whenever that may be, you’re not going to be able to shrug her off like this. Her staying with Jasper is a good thing. They both need that.” That damning Cheshire smirk appears again. “But she also needs you. And you, her.”

A sigh escapes him as he brings his sights to her once more. “You’re both ridiculous. But you two will be fine.”
Gray Taylor 05/03/19 “I trust you.” The words are a simple response. Gray told her ages ago that he trusted her with his sister’s life and that hasn’t changed. Sighing, as if they’ve discussed all they could at this time, pressed on. “Once they wake up, I will see that they get situated and we will go to back to London promptly thereafter. Should I keep her away, in the meantime?”
Gray Taylor 05/02/19 A soft nod is given as she expresses her trust. It doesn't matter how difficult it is for her to voice, Gray knows well that it is true. So, he remain as such, becoming the still anchor to her trembling uncertainty. The girl is practically a leaf within his grasp, so much so that he is moved by her. "We will unpack this. It is terrifying, I know. But it is amazing what a person can do when the stakes are highest."

Unable to help it, a slight smile pulls at the corner of his mouth, and he drops his hand, taking hers with it. It takes next to nothing to enclose her hand in his, and he is reminded of a very specific piece of history. A heavy sigh, a self-deprecating glance, and Gray would lay it out honestly for her. "This isn't my strongest suit either, Claire. But.. I know we can handle this.

"You have to tell me, though. When it's too much, and too close to the surface of it. Alright?" What had Jasper told him? How could he ever forget. "But you have got to feel this, Claire. You can't just numb it away. Understand?" He can handle a little fire.
Gray Taylor 05/02/19 A deep, rueful sigh would escape him as he allows her to say what she pleases, though his overcast gaze would watch her as she speaks. He understands it all too well, but Gray would not be moved. "You will do neither," he raises a brow, glancing toward the door as if half expecting an equally dramatic interruption before returning his full attention to Claire. "You are my sister," the statement comes with so much conviction, it is impossible to question. He loves her, and would move mountains for her.

"You will mourn, Claire. Slowly, as you can. It will be painful, and it will take time, but you will get through this and I will be with you every step of the way. Sarah will be fine." Without much concern, his hand lifts only to take up her chin. He has absolutely no idea what he will do, or even can do, but he is absolutely driven. So, watching her just as carefully as she does him, he leans in just slightly to punctuate his question. "Do you trust me?"
Gray Taylor 05/02/19 He had been waiting outside the room, fully aware that things would not go well. His worst fears were only confirmed when Sarah made a beeline out of the room, eyes rimmed red and refusing to look at him. Their moment of sibling normalcy uprooted, he accepts his place in her world once more, taking a step back to allow her chosen brother his time in the limelight. Gray might just be irritated by this, but he also knows that he does just the same with Claire.

A soft knock announces his entry, and he closes the door behind him before walking slowly to the bed where she rests. Gently, he sits on the edge, a hand coming to rest on what he can only guess at being her shin might be. Whatever happened, he understands it wasn't pleasant for either girl. "I shouldn't have let her come up here. I'm sorry. She just... isn't herself yet."

They haven't spoken much, but of all others, Gray has had the most access to Claire since everything happened. Few words were spoken, but when they were, they were meaningful. She is so much like him, and he truly comprehends her needs. "Sarah will come around." He wishes, more than anything, that he could shoulder her burden. It would be so much easier for her, if only he could take on the weight of her world. "How are you feeling?"
Sarah Taylor 04/18/19 Sarah watches Gray as he walks out of the room, glancing down at the phone in Claire's grip before reaching out to touch a halting hand to her arm. A deep, shuddering breath brings her to shiver before she steps forward and tosses her arms around the girl. "For the road," she whispers.
Sarah Taylor 04/18/19 Sweet Girl
Go figure.
Really? Is everything okay?
I’m here if you need me, sweet girl.
Sarah Taylor 04/17/19 Sweet Girl
How old is Jasper, again?
I saw him at the market. He definitely threw out his back.
Sarah Taylor 04/14/19 Beside herself, Sarah gratefully folds into Claire's arms, her own wrapping tightly around her. Sniffing, she laughs at her own expense as her partner apologizes, and Sarah shakes her head gently before nodding her confirmation. "It's always a yes," the word come out before a deep intake of breath as she works to calm herself down.

"I'm sorry. It just... it was so sweet, and I couldn't help it." A shaky exhale tells of her winning, albeit slightly uphill, battle for composure. Pulling her arms from around her, she leans back so that she can look her in the eye and take up her face in her hands. "I love it when you make me cry," at this, she smiles, breaking out into a soft, adoring laugh.
Sarah Taylor 04/13/19 Upon coming in from her evening jaunt, Sarah finds herself passing a lingering glance at Claire's door as she passes by. The desire to knock, to let herself in, to invade her space... it's consuming. But she is trying. She is trying to move slow for the most perfect creature she has ever met. And then, she sees the familiar letter waiting for her. It is snatched up, a smile immediately appearing. A passing glance is cast toward Gray, and she moves into the kitchen to glimpse the contents.

She can swear she catches him roll his eyes.

Her heart flutters, stomach tying up in the most pleasant knots she has ever experienced. Never before has she felt so seen, and wanted. Breathing picking up, she can feel herself beginning to get emotional. Without a thought, letter clutched in hand, she rushes out of the apartment and next door, knocking feverishly though she tries to contain herself. By the time the door opens, she's in tears. The good kind.

She can't even get out words. Sarah holds up the letter as if it is a perfect explanation, only to open her arms as she begs for a hug. Beautiful words, from a beautiful, sweet girl.
Jameson Orlav 04/13/19 *snorts*
The worst things.
If the rumors aren't terrible...
Is one really trying, like, at all?
Jameson Orlav 04/12/19 -sniffs around-
-scoffs-
Rumor has it; Gray Taylor has a tail.
Gray Taylor 04/04/19 Claire
No. You are not.
Gray Taylor 04/04/19 Claire
She’s generally a woman of strong words.
All will be detailed out.

Claire
I really do hate that woman.
Gray Taylor 04/04/19 Claire
If you’d rather speak to her directly, I am sure it can be arranged.
Under supervision.
Gray Taylor 04/04/19 Claire
Your calendar says you will be back at 3:30.
Gray Taylor 04/04/19 Claire
Would you look at that. I suddenly have an opening.
See you at 4.
Gray Taylor 04/04/19 Claire
Appreciate you.
Gray Taylor 04/04/19 Claire
Are you really going to make me text all this?
Schedule a meeting. Thirty minutes.
Gray Taylor 04/04/19 Claire
I do handle it. But this isn’t optional. This is a need to know.
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
It is actually important.
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
It’s not like I’m defending her.
It’s obvious neither of us are fans.
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
There is control to be had in all things.
It is simply up to the individual to find the means.
Just know that I'll do everything in my power.

Claire
We should also talk sometime soon.
About your brother's wife.
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
I won't let anything happen to either of you.
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
Do you feel you haven't been?
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
Of course.
Just don't forget, she's not using her head.
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
My point is that I told you that the head does not belong in these matters.

Claire
I do mean it will actually help. In a good way.
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
You're right. Psychiatry will help you.
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
I see.
And you're worried she's going to be upset about the loss of time together.

Claire
Want to talk about that?
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
Oxford is a fine school.
Why would she be disappointed? I'm sure she will be very excited for you.
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
Congratulations on your raise.
What school?
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
You’re both smart. He just sometimes lacks common sense.
If you had told me you had a degree, I would have paid you more from the get.
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
You're five. How did you manage that?
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
...you have a diploma?
Gray Taylor 04/03/19 Claire
I'm confused. Medical school? Where did this come from?
Sarah Taylor 04/02/19 That small smile grows by the second, and Sarah knows that there was never even a battle to win. She would, no doubt, get Claire in trouble for this. But it is worth it, and she would gladly get into a screaming match with her volatile brother for this. So, grinning, she would lean forward and plant a soft kiss upon her counterpart.

Always pushing the envelope, this one.

Without pause, she moves to pull Claire up to stand. "Good thing I'm good at thinking on my toes." Raising her brows suggestively, Sarah lets her arms slide until she's grasped Claire's hands in her own, backing toward the door. "We're going to God's Own Junkyard."
Sarah Taylor 04/02/19 Sarah slips into the office quietly, barely shutting the door behind her as she glances toward the windowed next room. A small smile creeps up as she notes just as she suspected: her brother is MIA. Without any further consideration, she walks up to the desk that sits the object of her visit.

"Honestly, you work too hard." Standing on the other side, she leans forward and places her elbows upon the surface, chin rested on the heels of her palms. "I'm here to save you from this drudgery and whisk you off your feet."
Sarah Taylor 03/25/19 On Claire's desk on the fourth floor, Sarah would leave a small bouquet of peonies in a delicate, soft blue vase. With it, a note.

Sweet girl,
Thinking of you. Have a lovely day at work.
Notting Hill tonight? (the place, not the movie)
xoxo your Sarah
PS - don't tell Gray I broke in.
Sarah Taylor 03/22/19 There is hardly a second before Sarah throws her arms tightly around Claire, heart on her sleeve. It is nothing short of an embrace, and she desperately wishes she could express herself thoroughly in this simple act alone. Holding her close, she allows her eyes to close as she inclines her head, allowing her cheek to rest upon her counterpart’s shoulder. How perfect she is, with her sweet words and pretty eyes. She’s warm, and comfortable. Exciting, and bold.

Sarah doesn’t know the rules. She doesn’t understand yet the line and exact level of patience Claire desires and needs. All that is understood is that she would do it all. So, when it feels right, she slowly pulls away and meets Claire’s eyes. It is abundantly clear that she’s had some feelings, try as she might to keep it off display.

A warm smile is present as she takes Claire’s hand, placing her response upon her palm before closing her fingers around the folded paper. One more gentle squeeze, and Sarah takes her leave, casting a telling look over her shoulder as she goes.

Sweet girl,
Never apologize for who you are - you are perfect. It is a lot, I know, especially when you don’t expect it. You did nothing wrong.
I wish I could be so beautifully eloquent, as you are. Then I could tell you everything I see when I look at you and hear your voice, or read your notes. Claire, if you are selfish then I am, too. You are all I desire, and I have been yours since that perfect night.
For you, sweet girl, I will do my best. Lead the way, and I will follow.
But first, I simply must hug you. You are all I’ve thought about, and I’ve missed you so very much.
xo your Sarah
Sarah Taylor 03/22/19 It had been a trip, that’s for sure. Sarah spent mere days with Claire’s brother, and it had been nothing short of exhaustingly wonderful. There had been nothing of real consequence, though she found herself talking and seeking counsel when the night became late and her mind wandered back to London.

Finally, it was time to go home, though she isn’t sure what or where or who home truly is anymore. There is an idea, but it is too unclear. A right hug would be granted to Jasper, a smile at his wife, and she would disappear into the airport. Now, she quietly slips into the apartment, breezy through and closing herself into her room. A deep breath, and she sets about settling in. The letter catches her eyes almost instantly.

Sarah could cry.

Instinctively, she takes pen to paper, scratching her response easily and quickly before rushing out and knocking on Claire’s door. She feels as though her heart might just burst from her chest and tumble out at her door, and when the door opens, she would be chewing at her lip. A moment of silence, and Sarah breathes, “...May I hug you?”
Sarah Taylor 03/19/19 Dearest Claire,
I hope you’re feeling better; you’ve been on my mind.
I’m going to go to New York for a couple days. I wish you were with me. I miss you, sweet girl. All the best.
xo, Sarah

PS - Museum when I get back?
Gray Taylor 03/16/19 "If your mother knew, she would have been here already." Gray isn't foolish enough to believe that Lilith would not be there in an instant to rip into him if she had any idea what has transpired. He'd been expecting her, spending each minute preparing for something there is no real preparing for.

There is a moment of silence that passes through him as he considers everything between them. Her anger, her obvious desire to defend his own sister, Sarah's home here. It is all so abundantly clear to the man, but it seems there would be no reasoning with Claire. "The facts are that Jasper does deserve to know. Sarah is falling in love with you. And those feelings are clearly reciprocated. Whether you acknowledge that or not makes no difference in the reality of it all."

Taking a breath, he moves to take the cup to sink, placing it carefully within it's depths. "If you'll excuse me, I need to contend with your brother's wrath." With that, he walks to the couch, looking at Sarah momentarily though not daring to reach out. And then, quietly leaves. Telling Jasper is worth the price. He cannot do this alone.
Gray Taylor 03/16/19 “Right. So let’s tell him, so he can tell Lilith, and we can hear it from both of them. I’ll get on that straight away, Claire. Breach of contract sounds like a great idea.” As if solidifying this conversation, he takes a seat upon a stool, fixing her with a look that says this isn’t over at all.

“That is my sister. I love her enough to sell my soul, and give her the space she blatantly desires. Do not mistake my silence for indifference.” His tea is getting cold, but it’s no matter. Jasper had put him on a path, and he would not fail him a second time. “But I also know her. Sarah doesn’t do friends. She doesn’t let people in without intent. You aren’t friends, and I think you know that. So when I advise to do one or the other, know that it is because I am literally watching her make a home in you.”

An exhausted look is passed over his shoulder, as if checking to ensure the sleeping girl is not listening in on this transaction of words. “Once again, Claire.” He meets his gaze, leveling with her easily. “I am trusting you with her. I told you I trust you, and that remains true. You hold the power, and what you do with that is up to you. But you are going to need help, whether you want it or not, regardless of your choices.” Standing, he finishes his tea before bringing it down to the counter and staring into the depths of the empty cup.

“Do you want me to tell him, or no?”
Gray Taylor 03/16/19 “I tried to warn you of consequences, Claire.” Abrupt, Gray lets out a sigh. He isn’t exactly the best at these things, though he does try. “Your brother is furious, and no longer speaking to me. His wife, no doubt, is plotting my murder as we speak. And you two,” he lets the word hang between them for a moment. “Of all the things I considered when we were sat there, this wasn’t it. So there are two options. Break her heart, or don’t. Whichever you decide, I will help you. It doesn’t which, the potential consequences are the same.”

All of it leaves a bitter taste upon his tongue, and as if trying to wash it away, he drinks from his cup once more. “I’m not saying these things to upset you.” A hand waves low over the table, as if wiping away any murkiness to his message. “You should do whatever makes you happiest. But it would be prudent to get ahead of whatever it may be.”
Gray Taylor 03/16/19 Her words immediately still him, and Gray settles an unreadable stare upon Claire. Jasper is right. He is f-cking foolish, and oblivious. There is no turning back from this, and he needs to step up his game. Taking a sip of his tea, he considers carefully how to word this. “Do you want me to be delicate about this, or brutally honest?”
Gray Taylor 03/16/19 An amused huff escapes him as he reads the message, already enroute. It is seconds before he lets himself in, glancing at his curled up ball of a sister before making his way to the kitchen where the distinct sound of tea preparation calls his attention. “You know, you can send her home whenever you want to.”
Gray Taylor 03/16/19 Claire
Stone cold out, or napping out?
I’ll be over.
Gray Taylor 03/15/19 Claire
Let me know the next time she passes out.
We should probably talk.
Sarah Taylor 03/13/19 “Yes, yes, I know,” she would murmur. Sarah wonders if Claire realizes the extent of what had happened, but neither of them want to talk about it. Her counterpart wouldn’t like to hear about how Jasper is the reason she survived, and Sarah would loathe to revisit all that happened if only because it is painful to think on. “Get some rest. I’ll be here. I’m not going anywhere.” As if solidifying her existence there, she shifts to entwine their fingers. At least there is this, and she would remember the closeness of this moment always.
Sarah Taylor 03/13/19 “I know you’re not. It was just really bad.” Her mind tracks back to her conversation with Jasper, going over all of it, and then everything she had seen in that room. “That wasn’t obligated. That was nothing but love. He kicked me out the room at one point. Didn’t want me to see. Told me to check on his wife. Gray stayed the whole time. ...He bashed her skull in.” Frowning, she presses her cheek further against Claire’s shoulder. “There is a lot to talk about. A lot happened. I’m not even sure of all that happened.”
Sarah Taylor 03/13/19 “Shhh... cheeky.” Glancing upward, Sarah notes the upward curve of her mouth. How Claire could smile right now is beyond her, but she will take it. “Umm... a few hours. A while. Claire, we thought we lost you. It was terrifying...” Squeezing her hand, she lets out a telling sigh. It feels as if she moves away, this wonderful creature might just disappear. “I met Jasper. He saved your life, sweet girl.”
Sarah Taylor 03/12/19 Squeezing her hand gently, Sarah leans in to press a soft kiss to her forehead before settling down beside her once more, cheek rested against Claire's shoulder once more. "I'll tell you everything I know, Claire. I will." Sarah takes a deep, steadying breath as every single little emotion hits her in waves. "Just let me have one more minute in this moment."
Sarah Taylor 03/12/19 Sarah is beyond confused by her words, but those are hardly the focus. Claire is in pain, and she would lift herself up enough to prop herself upon an elbow. Without a thought, her fingers would smooth back the hair atop her head soothingly. “You’re doing great, Claire. Don’t move,” she would murmur, swallowing her worry. “I... can I get you something for the pain? Or do you need something else...? Just tell me how to make you comfortable. I’ll do anything.”
Sarah Taylor 03/11/19 She is so aware of her as she begins to stir. Sarah’s eyes shift, though she dares not truly move, as Claire becomes aware of her surroundings, and finally, her. A quiet protest is on her lips as her counterpart would move, but her smile and words stall them. The breath is knocked out of her lungs, and a heat creeps into her cheeks as a small smile makes its presence known. “I’ll keep you always,” she whispers, shifting carefully until her head is sharing the pillow, rested beside Claire’s. “Do you need anything, sweet girl?”
Sarah Taylor 03/10/19 It had been a horrible day. Beyond, that. While their brothers battled it out, she would remain with Claire. The girl has yet to wake up, but Sarah is ready. Water, small snacks, anything she could think of that might be requested are all within arms reach. She would wait, laying beside her. Hand in hand, her cheek rested against Claire's shoulder.
Sarah Taylor 03/09/19 Sarah practically scampers over the back of the couch when the knock comes, rushing to the door only to open it and see nothing. A small frown, and she moves to shut it once more only to glimpse the note. Instantly lighting up, she reads it once. Then again, and again. A content sigh escapes her. There is no need to respond.

She would be there.
Sarah Taylor 03/09/19 Sarah steps out of the apartment, glancing up and down the hall before approaching Claire's. She'd given the girl some space since their last interaction. A note is taped to her door before she makes way for the elevator, a small smile on her face.

I miss you.
xo Sarah
Gray Taylor 03/09/19 Considering everything, Gray simply studies her. She’s confident, and he is confident in her capabilities. The average secretary would start at a barely living wage. Claire is better than that. With a sigh, he taps the surface of his desk. “We will start you at fifty grand a year. Obviously, you get benefits. Paid time off, sick days, insurance. Bonuses. After ninety days, we will regroup and assess. Sound fair?”
Gray Taylor 03/08/19 Gray looks up from where he sits, steel gaze previously trained upon the screen of his laptop. "I'm always here," he finds himself confused as he watches her, listening to her begin to chatter on. He doesn't have to wait for to explain, because she is already showing him precisely what she has done. There is a moment of silence that hangs in the air as he considers the girl before him. It is best they remain close, and she truly does seem to have a knack for organization. "Monday through Friday, nine to five. Some evenings, depending on meetings or events. What is your desired pay?"
Sarah Taylor 03/07/19 For just a split second, Sarah thinks that her dear friend might be opening up. She waits on baited breath, wondering just what might happen. Declaring the need to pack her meager belongings, and dashing away, Claire leaves Sarah behind to simply watch her disappear from sight. A near silent groan escapes her, her hand lifting up to her mouth as she mutters a single word. "F-ck."
Sarah Taylor 03/07/19 The words are on the tip of her tongue, though she dares not say them. Not yet. In her mind, she considers the time they've shared. The laughter, the outings, little notes and tentative smiles. She'd yet to fall asleep in a bed alone. Having Claire there had given her peace in the wake of nightmares that would surely creep up in her absence. Sarah is not like her brother. Her stiff, reserved brother with his inability to live a life that would make him happy.

"You are home." The words are whispered, a quiet promise to Claire.
Sarah Taylor 03/07/19 Sarah is patient, a virtue not afforded to her brother. So she waits, eyes roving over the words on the page as Claire finishes. Only when she has her complete attention does she pipe up, her voice painfully, purposely, sad. It is in play, of course - but not entirely. “You move out tomorrow. What am I going to do without you here?”
Sarah Taylor 03/07/19 Thursday. Sarah had been dreading this day ever since her return to the world. With a melancholy sigh, she takes a seat beside Claire on the couch, resting her head on her shoulder. "...are you sure we can't just run away now?"
Sarah Taylor 03/06/19 You are more than you know.
But most of all, you are a treasure to me.
xo, Sarah
Sarah Taylor 03/05/19 I read something that reminded me of you.

'She has the most beautiful thing I had ever seen and it took only her laugh to realize that beauty was the least of her.'

xo, Sarah
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
I know. The things I do for your brother.
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
I didn't. I begged.
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
What can I do?
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
Well, I do.
Sarah Taylor 03/04/19 Too late.
I already put nair in his shampoo.
xo, Sarah
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
Have I mentioned how much I appreciate you?
Sarah Taylor 03/04/19 He's on your case?
We will have a chat, then.
Wish me luck, pretty girl.
xo, Sarah
Sarah Taylor 03/04/19 Grinning, quietly singing some little song to herself, Sarah puts pen to paper.

I'm going to hold you to that.
Picnic into your new place?
Mine has the keys.
xo, Sarah
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
You could just talk to him.
You might be surprised.

Claire
Is that singing?
Why is she singing?
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
Reflex.

Claire
I don't know what to do.
He's trying. He's waiting.
He is being so patient, and he's just drowning.
Sarah Taylor 03/04/19 One day is so far away.
I will do my best.
You are so perfect.
Can I keep you?
xo, Sarah
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
After you give him two minutes of your time.
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
And when he asks about Sarah?
You know what.
Fine. I'll tell him about Sarah.
Sarah Taylor 03/04/19 They're horrible.
Are we truly running away?
Just us?
xo, Sarah
PS Anything.
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
I can't lie to him.
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
How am I supposed to explain you being out at night?
We had a deal.
And maybe. But I know hers.
That's not it.
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
We were talking about you. And Jasper.
And you should know we are great fun.
That’s not a friend smile.
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
We aren’t talking about me.
Could you at least say hello to him? Something?
And what’s going on with you and Sarah?
You’re very... smiley.
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
Please don’t do this to me.
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
I see what you did there.
It’s a no from me.
Gray Taylor 03/04/19 Claire
Dinner Wednesday. You, me, your brother.
Don’t know what to do with Sarah. Ideas?
Sarah Taylor 03/04/19 Walking out for breakfast, Sarah grins as she walks over to Claire. Hugging the girl is second nature, but... a kiss is placed to her cheek, “X.” A soft squeeze, “O.”

Releasing her, she is all smiles as she makes way for coffee.
Sarah Taylor 03/03/19 Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
These flowers are pretty
And so are you!
xo Sarah
Sarah Taylor 03/02/19 You are amazing.
xo, Sarah
Sarah Taylor 03/01/19
Sarah Taylor 03/01/19 Upon waking up, the first thing she would see is Claire. A sleepy smile crosses her features, and she remains for just a moment before carefully climbing out of the bed so as not to disturb her. It takes two seconds to find a pen and paper, a note scrawled and left on the pillow beside the girl before she sneaks out.

Good morning, sunshine. xo
Gray Taylor 02/28/19 Claire
Have fun.
Sarah Taylor 02/27/19 Sarah would love to be anywhere but here, right now. This isn't home. Not right now. Anywhere that Gray is, is far from home. So, with nothing to carry, she can only nod and walk out with the strange girl. However, on the way out, an arm would extend with a closed fist. A single finger would raise, aimed right at her brother. This is as polite as she can possibly manage to be for the time being.

Once outside the apartment, Sarah takes Claire's arm and heads straight for the elevator. There are some habits that would die hard, and this is one of them. "Come, lets go get some drinks and complain about our terrible brothers."

Within seconds, they are descending, and Sarah is thirsty.
Sarah Taylor 02/27/19 Sarah takes her time in the shower, scrubbing off the filth of death and feeling as if she is failing miserably. It feels like only a minute, but in reality, it is far longer. When she finally emerges, wrapped in a towel and without a care of what the strange inhabitant might think, she leaves watery footsteps in her wake as she makes the trip to her bedroom.

What is within it, seemingly waiting, is a surprising. Her steps slow as she crosses the threshold, sights landing on the demure girl as she nearly sends the framed photo to it's death. Sarah only watches, staring at her with a nervous gaze as she clutches the frame. Claire. Her name is Claire, and she is trying very hard.

She listens.

"Sarah," she murmurs, voice hoarse. Only then would she close the door behind her, sealing off the outside world - and more importantly, her brother. There is little thought as she crosses the room, setting to work at grabbing at fresh clothing and noticing how decidedly neat everything is. It brings her to pause as she plucks one article after another from her drawers, though it doesn't last long.

"We have something in common." Sarah is a proud young woman, lacking in a great many things. Decency is one of them, and when someone has seen you dead, there are few things that could really be that surprising. This is what brings her to dress right there in the room. It is only once she is dressed that Sarah would face her once more.

"I'd love to."

With that, she twirls her finger in the air, just as Claire had. The only difference is the faint hint of a smile on her lips.
Gray Taylor 02/27/19 Claire
There wasn't a question from him.
He declared it. Remember, he has a key.
Just offer her a drink. She loves those.
Gray Taylor 02/27/19 Claire
Jasper is coming here. Now.
Bought some time.
Get Sarah out of here.
Gray Taylor 02/22/19 F-ck me, he was right.
You're just like your mother.
Gray Taylor 02/22/19 Already making me proud.
Look at you go.
Gray Taylor 02/22/19 ...Do you want to try it?
Please remember the part where five is not legal.
Gray Taylor 02/22/19 A Manhattan. Best drink there is.
Legal age is questionable, I suppose.
You don’t want to be drunk. Drinking is bad.
And you’re wlecome.
Thank you for being... very mature.
Gray Taylor 02/22/19 It’s not the alcohol. It’s the drink.
Are you old enough to drink?
Gray Taylor 02/22/19 That’s not how this works.
And I’m not drunk.
Gray Taylor 02/22/19 You’re five. Get a grip. Melodramatics don’t start until 12.
Gray Taylor 02/22/19 Sheltered as sin.
Gray Taylor 02/22/19 Why not? I made an offer you couldn’t refuse.
Gray Taylor 02/22/19 You can call me The Godfather.
