Jocelyn blinked slowly, a sure sign she was attempting to process the information and it made no sense. Her brows furrowed. "You... like to play in the dirt, naked, with other people?" It should be noted that Jocelyn had zero concept of intimate relations.
She shrugged and wrote it off as a human curiosity. Maybe she'd revisit the subject later. "Okay. Never undress in public, because then we get arrested and go to jail, and jail is a bad place to be." Proud, she beamed at Sorin.
"Uh... I've never eaten human food before. My home is far, far from here. What are you hungry for? I'll eat what you eat." |

What's a GPS?
To Jocelyn's credit, she did not blurt the question. The woman might be clueless, but she was a fast learner. It was clear Sorin knew more than her and if she practiced patience, perhaps he would share his knowledge. He had so far.
Her smile was soft and full of... comfort? faith? warmth? when she laid her hand onto Sorin's arm. "Regardless how you came into this world, you are one of God's children, and you are loved."
The hand fell away, and her lips scrunched again, the moment over. "How odd to be careful about who you undress in front of. And jail isn't a good place to be." She filed that away and smiled brightly. "Oh yes, we eat, and I am hungry. Are you hungry? Where do I find food? ...what's a GPS?" |

"Oh! We can do that, too, but we don't have the magic cellphones. Do I really need one? What would I do with it?" So many questions, she nearly burst. The woman could rattle off a dozen of them in no time.
With considerable effort, Jocelyn tried to dial it back a few degrees. She forced herself to button her lips and listen to what Sorin had to say, and once again found herself puzzled.
"Where else would angels come from? Why don't you want to show me? You have nothing to be ashamed of. God created each being exactly as they were meant to be, and you should be proud." By both expression and tone, it's clear the woman meant every word. Further, she believed it. "But the way you said it, arrested isn't a good thing, so I don't want you arrested either."
The curiosity returned. "Can all people turn into spotted cats?" |

Jocelyn watched with avid curiosity. Her eyes grew wide as he pulled the picture up on his cell phone. "What sort of magic box is this?!" Forgetting all her manners, she attempts to snatch the phone out of his hand. If successful, she'll turn it every which way. "How did the chee-tuh get inside of it?!"
Assuming she'd managed to purloin the phone, she'll clear her throat in embarrassment and hand it back. "Sorry... I've never seen that kind of magic box. You can really change into the spotted cat?" Their exchange about scents and fragrances had been forgotten. |

Most females might laugh, or think the man was off his rocker. Jocelyn, on the other hand, stared in bewilderment.
"A what? Chee-tuh? What's a chee-tuh?" She broke the unfamiliar word. He offered distraction before she asked him to show her. "I do? So do you. At least I think it's pleasant." Jocelyn looked sheepish. "I'm not an expert either. You could smell terrible and I wouldn't know any better."

"You can't tell?" Jocelyn frowned and then took a moment to pat her hair, followed by twisting this way and that, looking for her wings.
No halo. No wings. Less conspicuous... but she could still feel them. That's good.
"If you aren't an angel and not a mortal, what are you? Um, I don't know if I need help. I just got here. You're the only person who's spoken to me. Is that normal? Do I smell funny?

"Politeness is reason for thanks," Jocelyn stated, nodding for emphasis. Then she examined her hand, wriggled her fingers, and lowered it back to her side.
Curious, she moved forward. "Sorin. I'm Jocelyn." Her head stretched toward Sorin's. "Help? Do I need your help? Are you an angel?" The words were whispered, as if she didn't want to be overheard. |
